From a yound age, I have learned how to use the outdoors for survival. In our household knives have always been important tools for my family. Growing up there were many nights we couldn't use the bathtub because there was a deer soaking to drain the blood out. This venison would provide some meat for the week because we didn't have the money for groceries. My Dad taught me the skills of hunting and using the land around you as a way to survive. As I got older, I found that I preferred being outdoors and discovering all that God has placed around us. I will continue to provide my own family with the healthy benefits of wild game and the enjoyment of the great outdoors.
When I graduated from college, my Uncle gave me a custom knife as a gift. I never knew knives existed that were both functional and fine art. I was fascinated by the craftsmanship and the fact that a man hade made something so beautiful with his own hands. Being a craftsman myself for so long, this led me on my custom knife making journey.
At the birth of my second son, my survival instincts kicked in and I thought I would give knife making a shot in order to provide a little extra income so that my wife could stay at home and raise our boys. With much success and hard work my first knife was complete and it turned out better than I had imagined. I then started acquiring a few tools that would make it a little better the next time. I started to show my friends what I had made and learned that many would want one. My list got bigger and I realized that I may be onto something. So here I am now a full time maker!
My knives go back to my roots and I design them for everyday situations out of doors. They are working tools that are easy on the eyes. I pay close attention to details and craftsmanship which in turn allows them the be heirloom pieces as well. I strive to make these knives your hands best friend. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy using these knives as much as I have getting to make them!
